Cold Feet Warm Heart

I find it difficult to sleep with cold feet. I imagine many others suffer from this affliction, yet no matter how much foot rubbing and pairs of socks, some nights it feels like my feet are in blocks of ice.
Now, I must admit I'm not the best when it comes to managing my feet, for me they are there, they do a job and despite pampering the rest of my body, I never really take time out to look after my little footsies! Which is bad for a start because they probably do the most hard work, shifting me around.

I have a theory now that if I do pay attention to my feet, scrub them, soften them and give them some TLC I may be able to sleep at night, so lets put this theory to the test.
A good ole' foot soak is a great start, not only is it warming to the feet, but softens up any hard skin, which can be removed by a pumice stone. Employing a foot scrub will also help shift any dead cells and leave the feet feeling softer after you've soaked them for about 10 minutes.
When you've done with the soak, make sure you pat your feet dry especially between the toes.
Next choose a deep moisturising cream or butter. Foot cleansers and cream tend to have cooling properties and natural ingredients to help them stay soft and smell fresh.
If you are planning to have a pedicure or paint your own nails, take an cuticle stick and gently push back your toe nail cuticles. Also if they are looking more like talons than feet, now is the perfect time to trim your nails. Cut the nail straight across as this prevents and nails growing inwards-ouch!
Finally as a daily treat, smother your feet in moisturiser before you go to bed and wear a pair of soft cotton socks, this will help the cream soak into your feet and in the morning you can spring out of bed onto gorgeous soft paws.
Now, time for my foot soak
